Did you know that in Gmail you can use some cool options to make sure you don’t forget about emails that you can’t action now?
So, I honestly believe that if you can deal with an email straight away, or it will take less than two minutes to action, you should just do it.
However, if it’s going to take some research or you want to postpone it for another day, here’s some options to make sure it doesn’t get lost:
Add it to “tasks”
Click on the email
Click on the ellipsis (...)
Click on “add to tasks”
The email will now show as a task on the right hand side of your GMail window in the tasks area
Open the task and add a date and time
The other option is to “snooze” the email
Click on the email you’d like to snooze
Click the “snooze” button either on the email itself or in the menu bar above
You can then choose from preset dates and times or pick a custom one
Choose the date and time you want to be reminded about the email
Once you do this the email will disappear from your inbox (it will still be available in your "snoozed" folder)
At the date and time you choose, the email will reappear at the top of your inbox with “Snoozed [days/hours] ago showing in orange
Just click on the email and action it as required
You can also snooze it again to a new date and time if required
